Family: Teasing pushed Ill. 10-year-old to suicide
RIDGE FARM (AP) – The family of a 10-year-old eastern Illinois girl who apparently hanged herself believes teasing and bullying drove her to kill herself.
An older sister found Ashlynn Conner hanging in her bedroom closet in the family’s home in Ridge Farm. The town is about 45 miles southeast of Champaign.
Vermilion County Coroner Peggy Johnson said Ashlynn died of an apparent suicide.
County Sheriff Pat Hartshorn told The News-Gazette in Champaign that investigators are considering bullying as a possible factor but so far have no evidence of it.
Lory Hackney is Ashlynn’s grandmother. She said kids at Ashlynn’s school and in her neighborhood teased her for several years. Some made fun of her hair and sometimes called her fat or ugly.

i love it when people in group projects that are worth 25% of my grade are given a deadline and then don’t complete it and go “oh sorry i had to do work for my other classes and i didn’t have time”
